VRX Simulators Raptor 6-Degree-of-Freedom Simulator
A private client of VRX Simulators commissioned a one-off combination simulator which combined flight controls for both a fixed-wing aircraft & helicopter, along with controls for a manual car. Built atop a MOOG 6-DoF motion base & featuring 4K triple screens with room for two passengers flanking the pilot/driver, this simulator is one-of-a-kind and allowed for automated changing of control systems via actuated pistons. The simulator also contained a Dolby Atmos 7.2 sound system and an overhead control screen/toggle switch array for increased immersion.
I was responsible for the design of the overhead control array and management of the fabrication drawings/liaising with fabricators through to project completion.
The simulator resides at the aforementioned private client’s house where it has been featured in a Discovery Channel Segment
